This is about saving a girls life. Kahlia Wilson goes to my school and is in year 12. She got cancer in her pelvis when she was only 13 years old, and after beating it once it has come back in her chest. Regular medicine is not an option anymore and she needs to travel to Perth for radical cancer treatment. This treatment will cost her family $30,000, money they just don’t have.

I do have a certain affection towards bogans, affection that entails using my video camera from a safe distance. That said, one thing I cannot stand, under any circumstance ever, is when the quintessential Aussie bogan comes out with ‘Aus - trail - ya’.

It may be the case that I am a nazi of proper pronunciation, but that withstanding, it’s ‘AUSTRALIA’. Bogans, I respect your desire to immerse yourself in your carefully constructed sub culture of Holden Commodores and Rugby shorts that sit delicately under your well rounded beer belly… However, it doesn’t give you the right to have verbal input. Because quite simply, you’ve fucked our reputation over enough already - at least allow us the correct pronunciation of the country we live in.

But then again, pedantic manager lady did tell me my haircut was unacceptable, unprofessional and that I had to fix it. It’s Woolworths. No one is going to stop buying groceries because one cashier has an undercut.

I am an awesome cashier by the way. My conversational skills are border line amazing. But I like my hair much more than I like working at Woolworths. It seems trivial, but she’s asking me to ‘even out’ my hair…this can only allude to my head being completely shaven. No, just no.
